How Your Unconscious Anxiety Affects The Law of Attraction

As a young child, I was led to believe that I couldn't say, do, have or think whatever I wanted. Now that I'm an adult I've been able to untangle from that past conditioning, but not without a touch anxiety along the way.
Let's consider this idea of anxiety as it relates to the Law of Attraction because it's something that we all face at some time in our life. Anxiety is often the result of our attempt to stay small, not upset parents and teachers, be 'good', be 'reasonable' and so forth.
Most of these goals are not good, reasonable or OK to start with. Whoever came up with the idea of being poor, without need and being OK with whatever we have, just didn't understand the Law of Attraction!
At times, it's appropriate and wise to be meek, to be humble and to be gracious. However, many times we in fact need to ask for what we want and expect it to appear. This is what allows us to move forward and grow.
Being meek, humble and gracious does not actually mean to live in lack or fear.
What it means is acceptance of the fact that everything has a timeline. Sometimes we can't force things we want because the universe knows more than we do-- or more than our minds allow us to know! Sometimes there is a longer route to the thing we're asking for, than what we had anticipated.
During my childhood, there were so many times that I was told I couldn't have whatever I wanted in that moment. Somewhere deeper down I just knew that life was meant to be more fun than these adults were trying to tell me. I knew that I was meant to be whatever I wanted, or more specifically whatever my heart and soul were telling me.
The adult way was suffocating and serious... dull and frustrating to me!
In the end it seemed I just had to conform, because no matter how I went about living my own life, someone would be wanting to drag me down! I had to give up because the struggle of a child in an adult world was just too big. And they won, for a while...
Reflecting on the journey of the past few years, I can say that it has been a struggle of overcoming that pressure to be small and limited, to not ask for what I wanted-- and therefore to not 'attract' any more than I had in that moment.
I had to ASK for it-- success, stability, authenticity, trust, faith, wealth and more.
To step out of that childhood box, means to step into the unknown. Unconsciously, after so many years of limitation and being told we can't be who we want to be, the mind is trained to push faith, passion and focus into the background.
Our unconscious anxiety, the very thing we've used to keep it all at bay-- "don't go there, they'll get upset with me, and that means trouble for me"-- comes rushing up, yelling at us to STOP NOW!
The fear of being true to ourselves, and what might happen to us if we do speak our minds and go after what we truly want, can be really big.
And when the resultant anxiety floods our minds we can assume that we are on the wrong track or that our ideas are just not meant to be. When in reality our idea IS exactly what we need to act on to create real joy and fulfillment. It's just that we've told ourselves to stay small, to stay out of trouble for so long that our subconscious mind goes into chaos.
An expectation of punishment or pain of some kind tells us that it's not safe and that we should retreat. It tries to push us back into that smaller space where there's no trouble.
To rise up to this challenge, we can remind ourselves that we are no longer that child, under the guidance and care of parents who saw the world so differently to us. We have to remind ourselves that if our parents love us, they will love us regardless of the success we are creating for ourselves by following our dreams!
And to be honest, if they chose not to love us for that, then we need to make a decision about how much time and energy we will put into trying to keep them happy.
Life is not always easy, but I'm not sure that it's meant to be.
Right now, our world is constructed in this way, with hardship and teachings that limit us-- and yet, each and every day all over the world, people are finding empowerment, building their lives with gratitude and creating abundance. One step at a time, they are overcoming and releasing their anxiety.
A little patience with our old anxiety and a little more determination to follow our hearts will get us a long way. No person is ever empowered by following those who don't understand their dreams. It's time to get on with the job of being happy.
