- Yoga allows you to focus on your body as you do the stretching exercises. These exercises are centuries old and have been devised to bring balance and healing to the body. It allows the body to be aligned and can help you with balancing your emotions as well. To prevent injury, this technique should initially be done through a teacher as well. It is also difficult to do at work, but there are a few stretching techniques that you can apply while sitting at your desk.
